Henderson is its own city of about 330,000 people on the south-east side of the valley, with its own police department, lower crime, consistently high school ratings and most of the newest master plans — think of it as the Naperville of the valley, with mountains. "Las Vegas" addresses cover everything from Summerlin on the west side to Centennial Hills in the north-west and the Southwest/Enterprise area near the airport. Ron lives in Lake Las Vegas (Henderson) and works the whole valley; the right answer depends on your commute, your budget and how much you want to be near the water, the mountains or the Strip.
